The Sunchumbamba Hunting area was established on April 22, 1977,
through Law (R.M.) N 00462-77-AG, it is located in the department
of Cajamarca, province of Cajamarca with a surface of 59 735
hectares.
With
regard to the flora, we can find the molle (Schinus molle),
the aliso (Alnus jorollensis), the chamana (Dodonea viscosa),
the llaulli (Barbadesia dombeyn), the Kikuyo (Pennistum
elandestinum), the grevillea (Greville robust), the pine
tree (Pinus rdit) and the cyprees (Cupressus sp.).
With
regard to the hunting practice, we can observe the following
animals: the partridge (Nothoprocta pentlandiio), the turttledore
(Metriopelia melanopter), the fox (Pseudalopex culpaeus),
the wild rabbit (Sylvilagus brasiliensis), the skunk (Conepatus
sp.), the zariguellas (Didelphis sp.) the vizcacha (Lagidium
peruanum), falcons (falco fermoralis).
The main goal of the Sunchumbamba Hunting Area is to preserve
the wild fauna.
