The real Inca Trail is a walking route that leads through the mountains above the Urubamba river, following (at least partly) the course of an old Inca roadway leading to the city of Machu Picchu.

This is a different way to arrive to Machu Picchu CItadel, trekking less explored Inca trails and surrounded by amazing ladscapes, and exotic flora and fauna.

ITINERARY:

Day 01 : Cusco / Challacancha / Sorayapampa

We'll leave the hotel at 05:45 and go by bus to Mollepata, small town about two an a half hours from Cusco. In Mollepata we'll have breakfast and after that, we'll put all the baggage on the horses and start trekking towards CHALLACANCHA where lunch will be served. After a short rest, we will continue the trek towards our fist camp, in SORAYAPAMPA, located at 3900 masl. Dinner and overnight.

Day 02 : Sorayapampa / Arraniyoc / Qolcapampa

Early wake up and breakfast. Start hiking to reach Mount SALKANTAY (4600 masl) where we'll enjoy an incredible view of this mountain (remember to bring your snow goggles) Then we´ll continue to ARRANIYOC, where we'll have lunch. After a short rest we´ll start going down to the jungle zone, surrounded by lots of butterflies and birds until reaching QOLCAPAMPA. Second camp (3300 masl). DInner and overnight.

Day 03 : Qolcapampa / La Playa / Lucmabamba

After breakfast we´ll visit local hot springs to relax and then walk to La Playa, where we can fish or buy some food for lunch. After a short rest we continue walking to our third camp located in LUCMABAMBA. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04 : Lucmabamba / Aguas Calientes

After breakfast, we'll start walking towards Aguas Calientes, lunch will be served close to the Hydroelectric Center. In the afternoon, we get to our last camp. Dinner and overnight.

Day 05 : Machu Picchu / Cusco

Early breakfast and bus transfer to the Machu Picchu Citadel, guided visit for about two and a half hours, visiting the Intihuatana, The Temple of Three Windows, The Royal Quarters, The Circular Tower and many other interesting sites. Afternoon train transfer to Cusco and to your hotel for overnight. End of services.
